The Cancellation Policy

Everything you need to know about the rules for cancelling lessons.

At Tutorverse, we strive to maintain a fair balance for both students and tutors. Our cancellation policy is designed to protect everyone against last-minute cancellations and no-shows while still offering flexibility.

Student Cancellations

More than 24 hours before the lessonFull refund — 100% of your payment is returned.
Less than 24 hours before the lessonNo refund — The tutor is compensated for the time they reserved for you.
Within 30 minutes of booking (regardless of start time)Full refund — Grace period applies.

Tutor Cancellations

If a tutor cancels a lesson for any reason:

  • The student receives a 100% refund automatically.
  • The tutor may receive an infraction on their account, which can affect their platform standing.

How to Cancel a Lesson

  1. Go to your Bookings page.
  2. Select the lesson you wish to cancel.
  3. Click Cancel Booking and confirm.
  4. If eligible, your refund will be processed automatically.

Important Notes

  • Once a lesson has started, cancellations are no longer possible. If an issue occurs during a session, please use the Dispute Resolution system instead.
  • Refunds for eligible cancellations are processed through Paystack and may take 1–3 business days to reflect in your account.

No-Shows

  • Tutor no-show: The student receives a 100% refund and the tutor receives an infraction.
  • Student no-show: The tutor is compensated in full for the session.
