At Tutorverse, we strive to maintain a fair balance for both students and tutors. Our cancellation policy is designed to protect everyone against last-minute cancellations and no-shows while still offering flexibility.
Student Cancellations
| Timing | Outcome |
|---|---|
| More than 24 hours before the lesson | Full refund — 100% of your payment is returned. |
| Less than 24 hours before the lesson | No refund — The tutor is compensated for the time they reserved for you. |
| Within 30 minutes of booking (regardless of start time) | Full refund — Grace period applies. |
Tutor Cancellations
If a tutor cancels a lesson for any reason:
- The student receives a 100% refund automatically.
- The tutor may receive an infraction on their account, which can affect their platform standing.
How to Cancel a Lesson
- Go to your Bookings page.
- Select the lesson you wish to cancel.
- Click Cancel Booking and confirm.
- If eligible, your refund will be processed automatically.
Important Notes
- Once a lesson has started, cancellations are no longer possible. If an issue occurs during a session, please use the Dispute Resolution system instead.
- Refunds for eligible cancellations are processed through Paystack and may take 1–3 business days to reflect in your account.
No-Shows
- Tutor no-show: The student receives a 100% refund and the tutor receives an infraction.
- Student no-show: The tutor is compensated in full for the session.
