Tutorverse uses Paystack, South Africa's leading payment gateway, to handle all financial transactions. Your payment details are encrypted and never stored directly on our servers.
Supported Payment Methods
You can pay for lessons using:
- Visa credit or debit cards.
- Mastercard credit or debit cards.
Saved Cards
For faster checkout on future bookings, you can choose to save your card during the payment process. Saved cards are stored securely by Paystack using tokenisation — Tutorverse never sees or stores your full card number.
To manage your saved cards:
- Go to Account → Payment Methods.
- View, add, or remove saved cards at any time.
How Payment Works
- When you book a lesson, your payment is collected securely via Paystack.
- Funds are held securely by the platform during the lesson.
- After the lesson is successfully completed, your earnings reflect in your wallet through our automated payout process.
- If a lesson is cancelled (with a valid refund), your payment is returned to your original payment method.
Payment Security
- All transactions are processed over SSL-encrypted connections.
- Paystack is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant, meeting the highest global standard for payment data security.
- Tutorverse uses webhook verification to confirm every transaction with Paystack before changing any booking status.
- Each booking generates a unique reference code (e.g., B-H9F2X1) that links your payment to your lesson. This reference is included in all email receipts for your records.
Refunds
Refunds are processed automatically when you cancel a booking within the refund window (see Cancellation Policy). Refunds typically take 1–5 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
