Understanding Your Tutor Wallet

How your earnings are tracked, settled, and made available for withdrawal.

Your Tutor Wallet is where all your lesson earnings accumulate. It provides a clear view of your balance, transaction history, and payout status.

How You Get Paid

Tutorverse operates an automated system that processes tutor payouts daily:

  1. After a lesson concludes, it is automatically marked as Completed.
  2. Your earnings — minus the platform fee — will reflect in your Wallet Balance shortly after.
  3. You'll receive an email summary detailing each lesson, its reference, and the net payout amount.

Platform Fee

A platform fee of 10% is applied to each lesson. This fee is calculated and locked in at the time of booking, so your payout amount is always predictable. For example:

  • Lesson rate: R200/hour
  • Platform fee: R20 (10%)
  • Your payout: R180

Viewing Your Transaction History

Your wallet shows a complete ledger of all financial activity:

  • Lesson Earnings: Credits from completed lessons.
  • Withdrawals: Debits when you transfer funds to your bank.
  • Cancellation Compensation: Credits received when a student cancels within the 24-hour window.
  • Adjustments: Any manual corrections made by the Tutorverse team.

Each transaction displays the amount, type, status (Cleared, Pending, or Failed), and the booking reference it relates to.

Wallet Security

  • Your wallet balance is maintained by an append-only ledger system, ensuring full auditability and financial integrity.
  • Only verified, server-side processes can modify your balance — it cannot be altered from the client side.
  • Every balance change is backed by a corresponding transaction record.
