Your availability is how students know when they can book you. Setting a clear, up-to-date schedule maximises your visibility and helps avoid booking conflicts.
Recurring Availability
Tutorverse uses a recurring weekly schedule as the foundation of your availability. This means you set your typical availability once, and it repeats every week.
- Go to your Tutor Dashboard → Profile → Scheduling.
- For each day of the week, add the time blocks during which you're available to teach.
- Save your changes. Your schedule will immediately reflect on your public profile.
Overriding Specific Slots
Need to block out a specific day or add extra availability for a one-off session? You can manage slot-level overrides:
- Block a slot: Mark a specific time as Unavailable to prevent bookings during that period (e.g., a public holiday or personal commitment).
- Open a slot: Mark a specific time as Available even if it falls outside your recurring schedule.
These overrides take priority over your recurring availability.
Minimum and Maximum Booking Windows
Tutorverse allows you to control how far in advance students can book you:
- Minimum booking window: The minimum number of hours in advance a student must book (default: 24 hours). This gives you time to prepare.
- Maximum booking window: How far into the future your calendar is open for bookings (default: 30 days).
You can adjust both of these under Scheduling → Booking Windows.
Tips for Managing Your Schedule
- Keep it realistic: Only open slots when you're genuinely available. Frequent cancellations lead to infractions and poor ratings.
- Update regularly: If your routine changes, update your availability promptly to avoid conflicts.
- Consider peak demand: Weekday evenings (4 PM–8 PM) and Saturday mornings tend to be the most popular times for tutoring sessions.
